Contemporary interpretation of the Slavic myth of living and dead water
   thermoformed plexiglass, water, light

The living and the dead water. A recurrent element in Slavic tales that my grandma used do read to me when I was younger. The concept of the miraculous water that rejuvenates, heals or resurrects is present in the mythology and folklore of the whole world. But in the Slavic ver- sion, its opposite exists.
When the living water has beneficent virtues, the dead water affects the strength and vitality of the person drinking it. This project explores the myths, the folklore and in what form it could exist today.

One aspect of this myth wich is important to me to convey is the ambiguity that reigns in the presenta- tion of these two waters. Indeed, the two basins are different one from the other, but a doubt remains on the one containing the living water and the one containing the dead water.
The characters taking part in these tales use this ambiguity to fool others, and make them drink the dead water instead of the living water. The light crosses the water in the basins and imprints form like clues on the floor.
